About the event

On May 24th, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., in collaboration with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the NAACP-Tampa, will host a 2023 legislative update and community forum that will address the significant public policy impacts for planning, conservation, transportation, community design and other issues of concern to many Floridians.

Moderated by Charles Houston, Former House of Representatives Edwin Narain and Sean Shaw will discuss key bills that were passed during the legislative session that ended on May 5th, including how legislation could impact Florida governance and planning practices.

The objective of this event is to educate, inspire and empower citizens to stay informed, understand how the legislation being passed will impact their everyday lives and help the community engage in the political process to effect change.

In-Person: Refreshments will be served in the cafeteria at 6:00 PM. The forum will begin in the auditorium promptly at 6:30 PM. Please arrive on time to grab a good seat! Parking is available behind the school.

Virtual: You will receive a unique webinar link upon registration.
