About the event
Come out with your families as we participate for the THIRD year! The Dr Martin Luther King Parade Foundation will host the City of Tampa's MLK Parade on Monday, January 15, 2023. The City of Tampa’s Martin Luther King Parade is a fun, exciting, and family-friendly event occurring annually on the national holiday commemorating the birth of one of our greatest American heroes, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The celebration grows every year and has proven to be a great forum to present the beautiful diversity of the Tampa Bay area.
Please arrive by 11 AM to be in place for line up. We must be in place and prepared for the parade to start by 11:30 AM.
We will enter the staging area at GATE #1 on the corner of Nebraska & 21st Avenue and our staging position number is #65. Upon your arrival at the entry point, volunteers will guide you to our staging position where we will remain until the start of the parade.
Parking:
Parking is available at Cuscaden Park Football Field
o To park, enter on 15th Street & 17th Avenue
o Parking is limited to parade participants only, Sorors are encouraged to carpool.
o If you park in this area, you may not exit until after the parade.
Parade Route:
· Parade is 2 miles long
· Begins at 15th Street & 21st Avenue and Ends at 22nd Street & Osborn
· Shuttle Buses will be available to transport participants back to Cuscaden Park after the parade.
o Shuttle buses will be located along the street near Middleton High School
Reminders:
· Attire: AATO Chapter T-Shirt or AKA Shirt. Wear comfortable shoes!
· Participation is open to all Sorors.
At the end of the parade, we will congregate at our tent, located in the Tampa Family Health parking lot accross from Middleton High School.
